Numerology

Numerology is the study of numbers, and the occult manner in which they reflect certain aptitudes and character tendencies, as an integral part of the cosmic plan. Each letter has a numeric value that provides a related cosmic vibration. The sum of the numbers in your birth date and the sum of value derived from the letters in the name provide an interrelation of vibrations. These numbers show a great deal about character, purpose in life, what motivates, and where talents may lie. Experts in numerology use the numbers to determine the best time for major moves and activities in life. Numerology is used to decide when to invest, when to marry, when to travel, when to change jobs, or relocate. I'm not claiming that this website is going to make an expert of you so that all these questions can be answered, but we can at least get you on the way.

The first question I asked when numerology was exposed to me was why does it work. The second question was how does it work. Well, if we could answer these questions it wouldn't be an occult study, would it? Is it a God force? Do numbers have vibrations or something like that? Who knows? Just be objective and give it a try.

Pythagoras, the Greek mathematician who live from 569-470 B.C., is said by many to be the originator of much of what we call numerology today. The actual origins of numerology predate Pythagoras, the most popular being the very old Hebrew Kabbala. In the twentieth century, the old discipline seems to magically reappear in the form of a series of books published from 1911-1917 by L. Dow Balliett and it was helped along in the 30s by Florence Campbell, and within the next few decades a wealth of literature was available to the public. Indeed, if you look at the past 90 years, it would seem that the discipline has moved very rapidly. But perhaps all of this was known at a much earlier time, and it was just hiding from us for a while.

Predicting the Future

Predicting the future using horoscopes is one of the traditional uses of Astrology. Horoscopes are used by millions today, as a confident guide and forecasting tool for future trends and tendencies. The Tarot is a mystical book that can gives insight into the tendencies revealed in the stars. Tarot too is a reliable forecasting tool, using archetypal symbols to understand ourselves and our roles in the world..

Astrology reveals that the stars and planets are a map to our personalities and a guide to our place in the world. It explains how the world is regular and predictable (up to a point!). A horoscope (containing an astrological forecast) will place these trends into a context, with regard to our own personal destinies.

Enlightened Astrology does not teach a purely fatalistic view of the world. Within the environment indicated by the stars, as shown in the horoscope, we have considerable freedom to move and make choices, according to our character and circumstances. The stars incline us to take a certain direction, or to make a particular decison, but they do not compel us to act in any sort of helpless or robotic manner. Beyond the forces of the conditioned world, our behavior is governed by our awareness, our intent – and our stage of personal growth.

The subconscious mind

The subconscious mind is a concept created more than 200 years ago, by a man named Carl Gustav Carus. He theorized that beyond our conscious existence, humans also have a latent unconscious mind.

Later, Sigmund Freud said that this subconscious mind is a fairly dark place, that stores traumatic and repressed memories. While we may be unaware of them, these experiences can strongly influence our daily lives. The only time they are freely expressed are during psychotic episodes - and dreams.

But Freud's protege, Carl Jung, took this theory even further, blurring the rules that Sigmund Freud had set for the unconscious mind and forming a whole new structure of the human mind. Jung said that the unconscious mind is full of transcendent truths - and that we can grow by bringing these truths into conscious awareness. He said the best way to achieve this is through dream interpretation.
